Centre for Research on Ancient Civilizations (CRAC UW) was established in 2020 to encourage the cooperation of historians, orientalists, classicists, archaeologists, Roman jurists, and other researchers of antiquity affiliated with the University of Warsaw, to award grants for small research projects, to host postdoctoral fellows from Poland and abroad, and to spread the news about the results of our research.

The first and current Director is Robert Wiśniewski.

The Steering Committee includes Jan Kwapisz, Maria Nowak, Małgorzata Sandowicz, and Dagmara Wielgosz-Rondolino.
